Bio

My Biography

Early Years

I was born on July 14, 1948.  My father was a Master Sergeant in the Marines and was stationed at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington D.C at the time.  In some way, my birth was my fist enlistment in the Corps.  Seventeen years later in spite of knowing how tough the Marines Corp is, I enlisted and served in the U.S.M.C from August 1966 to June 1969.

College & Career Decisions

In 1975, I completed my B.A degree in English Literature from U.C. Berkeley and went on to do some graduate work in Comparative Literature at a couple of State Colleges.  I supported this education while bartending for 9 years in San Francisco.  You could say I studied two subjects: one during the day and the other at night.

Failing to complete my masters degree or write the great American novel I became an investment advisor.

Activities, Family, & Experiences

My activities outside of work included being on the board of Catholic Charities of San Francisco for six years, three years on the board of Direct Relief, three years on the board for Serra Residential Center for the developmentally disabled and lastly currently in my fourth year on the board for Clear Springs Ranch which is a Drug and Alcohol Treatment facility in Texas.

I am married and have three children.  The last two were born when I was 51 and 53.  Within the span of birth and today is compressed 67 years which is the basis of my writing. Almost of all my work is autobiographical.  I have always wanted to live an interesting life and I have.  I always found my own life more interesting than writing fiction.  That may change someday but the experiences and people that I have met have interested and intrigued me for many years.  It is my hope that they intrigue and interest you.
